The Mocambo Affair

It's 1948, and Hollywood is reeling from the indictment of ten of its most illustrious screenwriters by the House Un-American Activities Committee. When one of the producers who instigated the ensuing blacklist is murdered after crashing a New Year's Eve fundraiser for the Hollywood Ten, Maxine Charles, fellow traveler and frequent performer at Mocambo, is the prime suspect.

With the help of jaded British P.I. Terence Maxwell, Maxine uncovers a plot to frame the Hollywood Ten and their supporters for the murders of powerful studio executives,  a conspiracy whose roots reach back into the dark years of WWII and beyond.

taste of the new McCarthyism out of your mouth.
